If you are interested in being a contracted facilitator for our emergency management or government investigation programs, the information below explains what we are looking for and what you can expect from us.
ACIMS has an excellent reputation in industry for providing professional, flexible learning and providing students with the best experience possible.
We want to support people working in the Government Investigation and Emergency Management sectors to feel confident in their roles, so they can best support their organisations and communities.
We value our highly experienced and passionate facilitators that helps make this possible, and recognise that our facilitator team adds to the reputation of ACIMS as a leading training provider for these sectors. Our renumeration and ongoing relationship with facilitators reflects the respect we have for each person in the team.
Many of our facilitators share that a key reason they work with ACIMS is that they want to give back to the industry that they love, and support others to grow in skills and confidence. We love this reason!
We also have facilitators that are looking for new challenges and opportunities outside of their technical roles. Facilitating and working with a range of clients around Australia is sure a great way to do this too.
As a registered training organisation, facilitators need to hold a suitable training qualification (as described in the RTO Standards 2025 Credentials Policy). This includes one of the following:
You also need to have relevant qualifications or vocational experience for the programs that you will be facilitating. This can include the one or more of the following:
As a facilitator, you will be expected to demonstrate vocational currency and professional development in the programs you facilitate. During the interview, and for every year you work with us, you will be asked to demonstrate how you are keeping up to date with the skills of industry.
As part of your onboarding ACIMS will request a current CV, copies of your qualifications and ask you to complete an ACIMS Trainer Matrix as a record of your ongoing currency and professional development.
As a contractor you are required to hold the following:
If you currently work for another organisation or government department, you may also need to seek and be approved for secondary employment.
ACIMS has a Conflict of Interest Policy. We will work with you to ensure that there is no potential conflict as a facilitator with any of our clients.
As part of the onboarding process, ACIMS will collect required evidence from you and ask you to complete a sub-contractor administration form and sub-contractor agreement. This will also confirm the schedule of payments for facilitators.
ACIMS will provide you with the resources to run each program assigned to you. This will include things like:
You will also be provided with training and access to the ACIMS student management system (SMS) and learning management system (LMS) where you can complete administration tasks for each program, complete marking of student work, and review learning resources shared to students.
As a contracted facilitator, it is your responsibility to maintain your own training kit, with relevant equipment and supplies, for example:
Once you have completed your contractor documentation, ACIMS will follow our onboarding process. This will include:
ACIMS has a team of facilitators across Australia. This supports us to find the right facilitator for a given location and client. ACIMS does not guarantee you a minimum amount of work or a certain type of work. Local facilitators will be used if available for face to face programs, as this reduces travel time and cost for the client. Virtual programs can include facilitators from any location.
With each program request from clients we will approach suitable facilitators to see if they are available. Where there are multiple facilitators that are suitable we will try to be equitable with work opportunities.
We try to give as much advance notice of upcoming programs as possible, although we do sometimes have last minute requests from clients or changes to cover programs due to unexpected changes to facilitator availability.
The greater your range of skills, availability and flexibility, the more opportunities there will be for you to facilitate programs. There is also the option to assist with additional marking and other tasks that can be completed at times of your choosing.
After reviewing this information, if you would like to submit your interest to work with us as a facilitator, please get in touch with our General Manager Tony via email tony@acimsolutions.com.au
