Trent Becker

Trent Becker has built a distinguished career in emergency services and incident management since joining the Logan State Emergency Service (SES) in 2009. With over 15 years of experience, Trent has held key leadership roles including six years as Group Leader of the Logan East Group and six years as Deputy Local Controller. His operational leadership and commitment to community resilience have been central to his contributions across the region.

Trent has a strong background in incident management, having led multi-agency Level 2 responses and served in dedicated Incident Management Team (IMT) roles during Level 3 emergencies. His expertise spans all-hazard environments adapting to any situation. He is a qualified Level 2/3 Incident Controller, Operations, Logistics and Planning Officer Roles. Trent has also played a significant role in developing and delivering training across SES core functions, with a focus on IMT capability, operational leadership, and emergency response coordination.

In addition to his SES responsibilities, Trent has extensive experience in the private sector, having worked as Sales Manager for a successful earthmoving parts business. This role strengthened his strategic, client engagement, and business development skills, complementing his emergency management expertise.

Trent has contributed to the development and delivery of training programs for partner agencies, councils, and volunteers, including leadership and incident management modules. He is also actively involved in mentoring emerging leaders through participation in large-scale exercises and scenario-based training.

Outside of his professional commitments, Trent is passionate about the outdoors. He enjoys camping, exploring nature, and open fire cooking – activities that reflect his practical mindset and appreciation for resilience and self-sufficiency.

Trent continues to be a driving force in building operational capability and fostering collaboration across agencies, contributing meaningfully to the SES’s mission and core values of protecting and supporting the community.
