Marc has been a Public Information Officer for the past 10 years and holds roles in which he is responsible for the development and enhancement of public information and emergency communications across the Victoria. During his time, Marc has worked on a range of key projects and initiatives including the development of Victoria’s warnings website VicEmergency and the states warnings publishing tool built into Emergency Management Common Operating Picture (EM-COP) system. Marc has also worked on the development of multi hazard public information training and has supported other Australian jurisdictions in the development of their own training. Marc was the inaugural chair of the national public information capability and training subgroup under AFAC.
Marc has previously work for the Country Fire Authority (CFA) across a range of community safety projects, notably in a team established after the Black Saturday Bushfires which looked to improve the provision and ability of the sector to provide information to the community during fires. Marc was also an operational volunteer firefighter for the CFA for 10 years with his local brigade in the leafy outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
