Caleb is an experienced emergency services professional with extensive operational, training, and incident management experience across ambulance, fire, and state emergency service environments. He brings a strong people focused leadership approach, combined with practical field experience and a deep understanding of emergency operations, safety systems, and incident management frameworks.
Caleb currently serves with SA Ambulance Service as both an Emergency Medical Dispatch Support Officer (EMDSO) and EMDSO Team Leader Reliever within the Emergency Operations Centre. In this role, he is responsible for the supervision and coordination of staff managing Triple Zero (000) emergency calls and ambulance service requests across South Australia. He provides operational leadership during shifts, supports staff development and performance, and ensures consistent application of clinical triage systems including the Medical Priority Dispatch System. Caleb also contributes to the Clinical Education Team, mentoring new dispatch staff and supporting their development in emergency call triage and the use of computer aided dispatch systems.
Alongside his operational work, Caleb works as an Emergency Management Consultant delivering training and assessment in nationally accredited emergency and incident management qualifications. As an accredited AFAC AIIMS Trainer and Assessor, he delivers both face to face and virtual training across Australia, supporting the development of incident management capability in government and private sector organisations.
Caleb has extensive volunteer operational experience. He currently serves as a Senior Firefighter with the South Australian Country Fire Service, responding to rural and urban fires, rescue incidents, severe weather events, and medical emergencies. He previously held leadership roles with the SA State Emergency Service, including Operations Response Manager, where he was responsible for maintaining operational readiness, coordinating training and equipment capability, and performing incident management roles such as Incident Controller and Operations Officer. Across his career he has responded to more than 1,200 incidents, including major bushfires, floods, and large scale emergency operations across Australia.
Caleb holds several qualifications across emergency management, leadership, work health and safety, and training and assessment, and is passionate about developing the next generation of emergency management professionals.
