Jason is a seasoned Police Officer with extensive experience in emergency management, investigations, and community engagement. His notable contributions to Western Australia’s COVID-19 efforts, particularly in an inter-agency management role with the State Vaccine Command and the Department of Health Western Australia, have been instrumental in supporting regional, remote, and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities across the state.
Jason has also demonstrated his expertise in managing cyclone events, including Tropical Cyclones Lua and Christine (Category 4) in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, as well as Tropical Cyclone Seroja. His experience extends to bushfire management, having been involved in the Yanchep and Wooroloo bushfires.
In addition to his police work, Jason has served as a Senior Policy and Projects Officer for the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, where he worked on the Kimberley Floods Program, collaborating with Aboriginal Prescribed Body Corporates, state, and local governments. He has also managed multi-agency land searches in remote Western Australia, compiled coroner’s reports, and presented evidence in a coronial inquiry.
As an emergency services volunteer, Jason has presented preparedness workshops, performed evacuation centre duties, and provided psychological first aid during response and recovery efforts.
Known for his collaborative spirit and flexible leadership, Jason is proactive, hardworking, and creative. His diverse industry experience and highly transferable skill set enable him to adapt quickly to new situations while consistently delivering high levels of customer service. Jason excels in developing relationships at all levels, being approachable, adaptable, and flexible in the workplace.
Jason holds a Bachelor in Emergency Management, an Advanced Diploma of Police Search and Rescue Management, an Advanced Diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management), a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training, and is due to complete his Bachelor of Emergency Management in October 2025.
