Nicole is an experienced emergency management leader with over 20 years in critical infrastructure, IT, and telecommunications. She leads cross-functional teams to educate and strengthen national community resilience, integrating technology and communications for effective crisis response. Nicole has extensive expertise in the Australasian Inter-Service Incident Management System (AIIMS), regularly designing and delivering incident management, public information, liaison training, and scenario exercises.
She has led the Emergency Alert and Life-Threatening Call Trace teams, ensuring 24/7 availability for lifesaving public notifications, and managed critical emergency services radio networks supporting mission-critical communications during major emergency events over the last two decades. Nicole has also served as an Emergency Management Liaison Officer (EMLO) in Victoria, working closely with the State Control Centre and key agencies to coordinate emergency communications and response.
Nicole is committed to advancing equity in STEM, mentoring emerging leaders, and fostering inclusion across the sector. She volunteers with the Australian Red Cross – Telecross and the Australian Business Community Network (ABCN), and actively contributes to professional communities including Safe Australasia, the Australasian Institute of Emergency Services (AIES), and the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2).
